Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ – Bimhuis

This year’s edition of The Web and Beyond will take place in one of the most exciting cultural landmarks of Amsterdam. The Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ opened its doors in 2005 and has, since then, won numerous architecture and design awards. This magnificent building located on a peninsula on the IJ river has become Amsterdam’s Concert Hall of the 21st Century. It offers state-of-the-art facilities at a convenient location close to the heart of the city and boasts several conference rooms, including the concert hall with movable floor and stunning LED-illuminated walls.

Adjacent to the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ is the concert hall, Bimhuis, where part of the conference will take place.  Famous for its repertoire of jazz and improvised music, the Bimhuis is easily recognisable as the distinctive ‘black box’ protruding from the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, with its panorama windows offering a breathtaking view of Amsterdam.
